I Think We Should Hit City Centre Some Cold Winter Night And Give Out Hot Drinks And Cro Brownies To The Homeless People That Are There.

Comment by Sarah

Cool idea….

How about, since reaching out and havin an impact starts close to home and works its way out (as you can’t do good things with integrity else where and be neglecting the people on your doorstep) – why don’t we look at how we can be a positive influence to our neighbours around the church by coming up with something to do during the time before Encounter starts on a Friday, when we can often end up annoying our neighbours with our presence! Even if that’s a case us just acting respectfully towards them, or if we look at some way of actively trying to make our presence here a good one for them!

Not to forget how we act as we leave at 11pm aswell!

I have a few ideas but I’m not sure if they are good or not. We could hand out tea and coffee to all the old people in the area and spend some time with them, something like Streetreach. Im thinking we could also do either a full 24 hours or a weekend devoted to Encounter and have worship and teachings and workshops for all the local young people. They are just two of the ideas and they came to me on Friday Night.

God Bless Sbap and God Bless Encounter/ Friday Night Project!!!

HEY!

i think that at christmas time we should do some carol singing in the local area, its fun to do and can bring christmas spirit to many.
also i think that maybe we should try and reach further like collecting money to send off to far off contries that need it. and then if possible seeing the result of what we have done.
I also agree with Ian and Sarah, i think helping the homeless is a great idea!

God Bless

Maybe we should do a sort of activities day if you know what I mean where we make loads of buns and have drinks and stuff and as people came past they could stop and have a chat and maybe pick up some stuff that we were handing out, like info on the church and events and stuff. I also agree that going out to help the homeless is a brilliant idea. And maybe have a 24 hour prayer team at the city center or something where people can ask for prayer or anonymously put anything they want prayed for into a requests box or something. Just an idea.

I have another idea. I think we should team up with the youth at CFC and have a big East Belfast youth event. It would be amazing.

Comment by Ian Boal (again)

I think we should have a formal to attract more non-christians or a disco type of thing and we should also hit the gay parade or amybe an encopunter worship weekend. I feel we should also have a cafe type of thing for the youth.

Some really cool ideas guys! Definately love the ideas of invitin non-christians into the church. The formal idea is a great one and i love the cafe idea too. A few years back there was the cafe embrace thing and i know alot of non-christians came along to that. Mite look at doing sumthin like that again? Keep the ideas comin!

I think that we should do a creativr painting at the wall outside Dundela Football ground. I walk past it every day and it is boring to look at. It is grey and unatractive. I think that we should have one day where we would paint it and make it look more exciting. It would brighten up the area.

Great ideas. Keep them coming.

At Christmas time, we spend even more on ourselves than anyone else….

In the UK alone we will spend over £14 billion on presents
On average each person will have £310 spent on them
£1.6bn going on food and drink.
In the UK we will eat 10 million turkeys
25 million Christmas puddings
250 million pints of beer
35 million bottles of wine
7 million children leave mince pies and a drink for Santa on Christmas Eve.

with all that food i think we should join the fast for Africa and fast for 1 day to raise money for people who really need it! We can give them a HOPE for 2008!! =] =]

Comment by Bob...??

Formal? Yes! Sounds class! Great ideas = )
