Well here it is. The end of year 2 of Encounter, and what a journey it has been this year. God has really been taking us through some highs and lows, and as always is bringing us out the other side looking slightly closer to how he wants us to.
Yeh, sure there were points this year where people felt like packin it in and spending their friday nights doing other things, but we have stuck at it through encouraging weeks and weeks where we left feeling deflated and drained, and yet God was faithful through it all. Even just watching the change and growth over these past few weeks as we ‘Complained’, ‘Waited’ and ‘Worshipped’ really was a picture of the journey we have been on all year. It’s been amazing to see God at work in encouraging people to speak out and share verses or aspects of God that have challenged them, or also to see people praying for the local community and ’standing in the gap’ for those treated unjustly.
And what better way to party and celebrate the end of a great year than with Encounters first 1990’s rave! Great craic and awesome community as leaders and ‘Encounterers’ bust a move and cut some shapes late into the night…
Thanks to all of you who come along and make Encounter what it is – both those who have been coming for the whole 2 years and those who are just joining us on this journey!
….So we are journeying and God is making is more and more like what He wants us to be…have we arrive yet though? Of course not! We’ll just have to wait and see what He has instore for us next…
